115kV/13.8kV Substation
The original substation was designed with three single phase transformers and a single phase spare with overhead wire bus connections. When the load exceeded the installed capacity, T&D was commissioned to redesign the station. On the 115kV side, the three phase disconnect switch was cleaned and reused. The 115kV fuses were replaced with a three phase circuit switcher. The single phase transformers were replaced with a new three phase, 12/16/20 MVA transformer with LTC and a new low side main breaker. A self-contained, heated and cooled, relay and control cabinet was designed that included differential and overcurrent relaying as well as controls. The picture was taken during construction.
