T&D has designed, engineered, built, performed construction review of, and commissioned dozens of substations and several switching stations throughout New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado. We provide complete engineering services for substations – from concept to completion – as well as ongoing support and maintenance. T&D has a trend-setting drafting style and we can provide 3D renderings and bird’s-eye views of station projects early in the development cycle to give our clients a realistic and panoramic concept of the project’s intended end result.
Our station engineering, transmission and distribution lines, planning, and protection and controls teams work cooperatively to ensure a comprehensive project approach for clients. Any associated surveying or civil engineering needs are readily handled by in-house surveyors and civil engineers. T&D’s multi-disciplinary team approach is an added benefit for our clients as it promotes design integrity and cohesiveness across fields – a critical element for the creation of optimized, sustainable designs.
T&D regularly provides station engineering services to municipalities, rural electric cooperatives, state agencies, tribal nations, private entities and industrial clients. Many of T&D’s projects are funded by the US Department of Agriculture Rural Utility Service (RUS). T&D’s engineering staff has decades of experience with RUS systems and is fully versed in RUS requirements including design standards, typical forms, contracts, and procedures. T&D maintains a comprehensive library of RUS regulations and requirements plus other resource material including the NESC, NEC, Uniform Building Code (UBC), American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standards and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes.
T&D’s goal is to provide clients with robust and cost-effective engineering designs geared toward longevity, low maintenance, and energy efficiency. As a firm, T&D places an emphasis on the practical application of our designs with a focus on safety, energy efficiency, and environmental site quality. We routinely consider the full life-cycle cost of various project design options to provide value engineering. Our clients receive the benefit of T&D’s expertise in field work, surveying, engineering, design, 3D CAD modeling, project management, bidding services, construction management, and testing and commissioning of facilities. At a client’s request, we will deliver turnkey solutions through an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract.
T&D has a commitment to seeing a project through to successful energization and closeout. We are willing to go the extra mile for our clients by assisting with scheduling and procurement issues and facilitating coordination with relevant parties such as contractors, suppliers and even nearby residents.
T&D’s civil, surveying, MEP, and fire protection engineering services are a complement to our power delivery and planning services and provide a comprehensive menu of solutions for our clients. We can assist with engineering design and improvements for our utility clients’ administration buildings and staff offices.
