69kV/24.9kV Substation
T&D engineers, starting with green field, completely designed this 69kV/24.9kV substation. The interesting fact was that the site was originally a dump site in the early 1900’s and the state archeologists had to authorize the use of the site for the substation. This approval held up construction for a while. The sub uses a 69kV high side breaker, a 10/12.5 MVA transformer, low side voltage regulators and three feeder breakers. The unique feature is a proprietary design vertical distribution bay with a main and transfer bus which simplifies construction using less concrete and steel.
