345kV Switching Station
T&D completely designed a 345kV Switching Station configured in a ring bus design using three breakers for the station. An existing 345kV line was split into two lines into the new station with a line out to an associated 345kV/115kV switching station. Also, a fourth breaker was installed to as needed switch a 25 MVAR reactor. T&D used the client’s 345kV protection and control drawings for another station as a starting point and modified them for this station. All of the outdoor Civil and Structural work was done by T&D staff with client review. The control building was client specified and T&D populated it with approved material. The building internal wiring and yard wiring was installed by the T&D contractor. T&D assisted the client in testing and commissioning.
